Because haven’t we all worked hard enough this wee Because haven’t we all worked hard enough this week…here are some fun slush options to make for the weekend and have on hand in your freezer! 🤪Which one sounds good to you?
I had so much fun making Marie’s Dill Pickle Pasta I had so much fun making Marie’s Dill Pickle Pasta Salad on @twincitieslive yesterday! It’s a true “recipe from the heart” that found its way into “Dish & Tell” thanks to my dear friend Staci, who introduced me to her mother-in-law’s family-favorite potluck pleaser.

Staci and I met through Instagram and bonded instantly over our shared love of cherished family recipes and the stories behind them. She’s quite the storyteller herself as the creator of the @randomsweets blog and the Funeral @potatoesandmittens podcast, where she celebrates Midwestern food traditions and the people behind them.

When Staci told me how her family started talking the moment they heard Marie was bringing her famous Dill Pickle Pasta Salad to a family gathering (one spicy, one regular!), I had to know more and just knew it was one of those memorable recipes that belonged in the book. 😉 I also loved Marie’s tip that puts this pasta salad over the top: she soaks the pasta overnight (up to 12 hours!) in the leftover pickle juice, giving it a powerful pickle punch of flavor.

Thank you, Staci, for sharing your family’s story, and thank you, Marie, for graciously allowing me to share your recipe. It’s passionate home cooks like Marie, who cook from the heart and create recipes that become cherished family memories, who inspired Dish & Tell. ❤️

I’ll drop a link to the segment in my stories!😘
Holy smokes, it’s hot out there this week! Can’t Holy smokes, it’s hot out there this week!

Can’t think of a better beat-the-heat than banana split ice cream cake! You can find this recipe on my website and Substack. 😘

It’s a family-favorite recipe from my sweet new friend, Bonny, who has been making this dessert for birthday celebrations for decades. It makes a gigantic amount but I cut the recipe in half—just enough for a 9 x 13 pan and perfect for a summer celebration (or to keep for yourself to chip away at during a hot and steamy week)!😉

Throwing it back to this 80’s family-favorite reci Throwing it back to this 80’s family-favorite recipe that lives on a stained recipe card in my mom’s recipe box. 🩵 I shared the “dish & tell” for Kay’s taco salad on my Substack recently. You can find it via the link in my bio. All the ingredients of a taco salad with DORITOS mixed in, this would be a great party salad for Fourth of July!🇺🇸
