It’s go time! Thankful for my Cloquet connection It’s go time! Thankful for my Cloquet connection who shares her bounty of beautiful rhubarb with me each year. 🤗Northern MN rhubarb “hits different” than my sad city rhubarb, and I am particularly tickled to get some from a dear friend of my dad’s who worked at the same school as him for years. Can’t wait to make all our family favorites this week: bars, crisp…and yes, SLUSH!!

Getting a bundle of rhubarb from someone connected to my dad makes all our rhubarb favorites even sweeter💗 thanks so much @hendricksondoreen 😘😘
Grad party nation…start your crock pots!! 🏁 Grad party nation…start your crock pots!! 🏁

Thinking back to last year when I had FIVE crock pots going with 20 pounds of Caribbean jerk pork for Charlie’s party. Uffda. Grad parties are so much work but oh so fun! Good luck to all those hosting parties today!

I am looking toward to attending my cousin’s kiddo’s party today!🤗🤗

I treasure all of my thrifted recipe boxes, especi I treasure all of my thrifted recipe boxes, especially this little lovely that came chock-full of rhubarb recipes!! Last night, I picked one to make because we had just enough rhubarb in the house to make one of the recipes that caught my eye.

This old-fashioned rhubarb dessert is credited to “Steve’s sister” 🥰and let me tell you — it’s DELIGHTFUL.

The magic? A sprinkle of cherry Jell-O (you could use 🍓too) over the fruit filling, giving it a velvety, sweet-tart finish. Just one more reason I love these timeworn, handwritten recipes. 💕

Nore: We added a few strawberries to equal 3 cups of fruit. And, we made it gluten-free with Bob’s Red Mill 1:1 baking flour and it turned out great!

Something old, something new, something borrowed, Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue…

Not a wedding—just me playing dress-up with my vintage cookbooks 💕 This little styling moment brought together a few of my favorite things: my collection of weathered classics (including my mom’s Pillsbury Family Cook Book from her newlywed days), a borrowed beauty of a vintage scale from the lovely @bettys.antiques.stp and a pop of blue from a few recent cookbook finds.

Hope everyone is enjoying a nice long relaxing wee Hope everyone is enjoying a nice long relaxing weekend! I shared the recipe for this zesty little “spaghetti salad” on my Substack today. It hails from one of my thrifted recipe boxes (credited to TOOTS 🤣) and has become one of my go-to dishes for summer potlucks and backyard BBQs. What are your favorite Memorial Day dishes?! 🍉☀️😎🌭🍔🥗
Straight from the pages of one of my vintage churc Straight from the pages of one of my vintage church cookbooks—this bacon tip is heavenly (and the only way I am making bacon from now on)! 😉

While flipping through those old-school “Helpful Hints” sections (my fave part!), I found a new trick that gives bacon the crispiest, crunchiest texture—almost like it’s deep-fried—and it doesn’t curl up as much.

Toss bacon with a little flour, then bake at 400°F for 20 min on a wire rack. Game-changer! 🥓

If you try it, let me know what you think!

I wrote about one of my mom's many signature treats on my Substack today: Chocolate Peanut Butteroos! Link in my stories. 😘
