A highlight of all this book business (busyness!)

A highlight of all this book business (busyness!) so far has been getting to spend an afternoon signing books @bettys.antiques.stp , one of my favorite places on earth, right here in my neighborhood.💕

Ever since I first stepped into this sweet vintage shop and met Liz a few years ago, I was smitten. How could I not bond with someone who lives by #usethefancydishes?🤗🤗

Getting to sign books with her grandmother Betty’s recipe for homemade caramels inside, surrounded by all of Liz’s perfectly curated collection of vintage treasures, a sampling of the beloved caramels onhand, and visits from friends and neighbors, plus Liz’s family and some of her longtime customers… it all added up to one of the most special events of my book launch so far.

Thank you to Liz for hosting me. Betty’s is the most perfect home for my book! And thank you to everyone who came by.

If you’re in the area, there are still copies of the book available at Betty’s Antiques (open Wed–Sun), which makes me so happy. And if you’re looking for a little outing, this Saturday is the neighborhood’s annual Spring Fling, which would be such a fun time to stop in!!

I am in a bit of a Junk Hunt “haze” after my whirlwind trip up north to 🤗 BE A VENDOR 🤗 at one of my favorite annual events!

Thanks to @toniaforstrom, my vintage-loving forever friend, who helped me to set up in record time and to style my space. We’ve attended and shopped this event for years so I just knew in my heart it’d be the perfect place to showcase my book and also debut the matching recipe box and recipe cards! 💕

Thanks to everyone who came by and made purchases, shared stories of their own family recipes and all those who drawn in by the vintage linens, doilies, tea cup vases and handwritten recipe cards!! You are my people!😘😘

Kicking off a weekend of book-related fun with an

Kicking off a weekend of book-related fun with an event at @nextchapterbooksellers tonight at 6 p.m. I’ll be sharing a few of my favorite “dish & tell” stories (and yes, a few bites from the book too!).

Come say hi, dish & tell with me, or maybe get a jump on Mother’s Day shopping. I truly can’t think of a more meaningful way to celebrate the moms in your life as “Dish and Tell: Recipes from the Heart” is filled with sweet stories and cherished recipes, many of them tied to the beloved matriarchs who made them memorable in the first place.💕

I am giddy about the week ahead—especially my book

I am giddy about the week ahead—especially my book signing event at @bettys.antiques.stp, tucked into the charming neighborhood at Selby and Snelling in St. Paul!

If you haven’t been to this shop, you are in for a treat. The owner, Liz, has such a gift for creating a welcoming space filled to the brim with beautiful dishes and vintage treasures. I stopped in yesterday and overheard a loyal patron say she comes to Betty’s just to spend time in the space—and I completely agree! 💕

I’ll be there Saturday starting at noon, signing copies of “Dish and Tell: Recipes from the Heart,” which just so happens to include Liz’s Grandma Betty’s (her shop’s namesake!) famous homemade caramels. The book would make such a special Mother’s Day gift, especially paired with one of the beautiful vintage finds in the shop (and maybe even some of Grandma Betty’s caramels 😉 which will be there for sampling and purchase!)

One week from today, I will be in my happy place at @duluthjunkhunt at the @deccduluth!!

I will be there (one day only!) on Friday (booth #35) with copies of “Dish and Tell: Recipes from the Heart” (that I will be happy to sign) AND a limited supply of these beautiful hand-painted recipe boxes with the sweetest matching recipe cards that also happen to match the design of my cookbook!! Such a fun gift idea for Mother’s Day, weddings, wedding showers or to treat yourself! 💕Hope to see you there!!😘

True “recipes from the heart!” 💕

My mom has kept this vintage vessel on her counter for decades. It contains the go-to recipes that she has made over and over through the years. Even though she doesn’t cook or bake anymore, it still sits on her counter and is such a sweet reminder of all the love she poured into everything she made for our family.🥰

There’s something about seeing her handwriting and the handwriting of other “keerpers’” in our family—little notes, smudges, and all—that is just so special! I also love to see all the magazine clippings affixed to index cards with her added notes! :)

Where do you keep your most cherished recipes? A box, a binder, tucked into a drawer…or saved somewhere digital?
