This is another family-favorite recipe from my dear Aunt Ede who was known for creating delicious comfort food with simple ingredients.

Ede’s Church Egg Dish includes a layer of cubed bread, topped with cheddar cheese and breakfast sausage—my family likes maple-flavored sausage—with an egg and milk mixture poured over the top.

It’s a make-ahead dish that needs to be refrigerated overnight but then you simply need wake up and bake to its glorious, golden brown perfection in the morning. This makes it a great option for weekend or or holiday brunches or just anytime you want to wake up to a no-fuss, amazing breakfast!
