I hope you will come “dish & tell” with me this fall. There are several fun events in the works, from demos at the Minnesota State Fair (!), to book signings, tastings and maybe a few recipe card swaps to boot! I will update this page as I have more details so stay tuned!!

Tuesday, Sept. 1 | 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. | Minnesota State Fair (St. Paul)

I am absolutely PINCHING MYSELF that I will be doing two demos at this year’s fair. I was invited by the Star Tribune to take part in a day of demos that the Taste team is hosting in the Cambria Kitchen space in the Creative Activities building. This is always one of my favorite places to visit at the fair–to see all the blue ribbon baked goods, watch demos and so much more. I am going to make two recipes from my cookbook that happen to have won ribbons at the fair in the past: Juicy Lucy Tater Tot Hotdish and Chocolate Chip Shortbread Cookies! There will be samples while supplies last!

September 12 | 1:00-2:30 p.m. | Oliver H. Kelley Farm (Elk River)

Come spend the afternoon at the farm! We are holding out hope that the historic house (onsite) will be completed in time for this event, but regardless, we will have a nice discussion about how family recipes connect across generations, talk about the recipes and stories in “Dish and Tell: Recipes from the Heart” and nosh on a few tasty treats from the book. I will bring my collection of vintage recipe boxes, and attendees are invited to bring their own family recipe cards or recipe boxes so we can all “dish & tell” together! I love the land of Paul Bunyan and the Blue Ox! Bemidji has such a special place in my heart, as it is my mom’s hometown; it’s where my parents went and where I spent so much time growing up, visiting my grandma, my aunt (who still lives there) and other family and friends. I have so many fond memories of holidays, celebrations and special meals tied to Bemidji! More details on the event at Four Pines coming soon!
