A smooth sipper of a drink perfect for summer, made from fresh peaches, frozen lemonade concentrate and rum. Pour in a Mason or jelly jar, or for a fun twist…fill up some Zipsicle sleeves to make adults-only freezie pops.
The abundance of peaches right now has me craving a certain vintage cocktail with a fun, albeit cheeky, name that my mom used to make for her friends: Bloomer Droppers!
I can just hear the Neil Sedaka cassette tapes blaring now along with the endless fits of giggles that would ensue among the ladies whenever a pitcher of this frothy, very pretty, very sweet drink was consumed. And who doesn’t need that right about now?!
WARNING: This is an easy-drinking, smooth sipper of a drink with no taste of alcohol, which can be a good thing but we all know what happens when you have too much of a good thing. Be careful people or you’ll end up with a doozy of a hangover.
For a different twist to enjoy this delicious drink, I like to make Bloomer Dropper Boozicles—pouring the vibrant, magical elixir into some freeze-pop or icee-type sleeves for a fun, grab-and-go, adults-only frozen treat. Super portable, these have been great to bring to the beach and pool parties this summer.
In fact, you could say I’m on a bit of a Boozicle Binge this summer, experimenting with several different flavors made from my favorite cocktails. So far, there have been no big fails but the Bloomer Dropper Boozicle is truly peachy keen!

Bloomer Dropped BOOZICLES
1)
Make Bloomer Droppers according to recipe.
2)
Pour Bloomer Dropper mixture into smaller pitcher or liquid measuring cup (to make it easier to pour into plastic sleeves).
3)
Prop ice pop sleeves in tall glass (e.g., pint glass or a tall vase); insert a turkey baster in the sleeve to open it up.
4)
Fill sleeve, up to ¾ inch from top (the liquid will expand during freezing). If you pour too much in, use the turkey baster to extract excess.
5)
Seal and place upright in freezer for 3-4 hours.
Notes
FOR BOOZICLES: you’ll need some Zipzicle or other type of ice pop sleeves. Other helpful equipment includes a turkey baster and a taller glass/vase to hold the sleeves while filling.
